REQUEST

It has been over a week since the idea of starting this blog came up. I have been able to inform some of our class fellows verbally and through E-Mails about this effort. Some friends were in fact able to add a name or two to the lists that have been put up. I am hopeful that the blog would have been visited by some friends and in times to come there would be more old students checking this out. Suggestions and comments for betterment of this endeavour or even generic ones,are most welcome and will help take the blog in the right direction. If you could leave your email id with the batch details and other details, it will help develop the blog.

OUR TEACHERS

We are what we are made by our teachers. Our teachers laid the foundations of learning and inculcated the values that we have carried all through our life. From the time that I joined Govt. Model High School Sec-35D in 1974, we saw only two Principals (I think) but quite a few teachers. I wish to list them as they come to my mind. Some may have left for their heavenly abode but in our hearts they live and so they are here. The list is obviously incomplete and help is solicited in making it more exhaustive.

CLASS OF 1984

It has taken me some time to remember names of my class fellows (even when they were just a handful). The list is incomplete and compiled at random. I would request you all to add names that have been missed out. Other batches can also put in the names of their class fellows; batch & section wise. Over a period of time we hope to get an exhaustive list batch wise and then we can start locating our class fellows and may be some day get together and talk about old times. I believe that the school was our first foundation piller. I take a lot of pride in being a part of this institution.

WHY THIS BLOG?

There is a deluge of Blogsites on the net these days and hopefully they are serving the purpose they have been created for. The aim behind this blog is to relocate old buddies and to rekindle old memories with the sole wish that "Someday we may get together".
From the time that I was in "35 model" (1974-84), much seems to have changed. The school has not only carved a niche for itself in the sea of Educational Institutions in the city but has also changed it's name. In fact, when the likes of us try to look for "35 model" on the net, we come across GMSSS-35D instead of GMHS-35D. Although both are same, they represent different era and different times. Whenever we get into the nostalgic and retrospective overdrive and try to find our roots one reaches a dead end where you do not have a clue about your class fellows, batchmates and seniors/juniors beside a few class fellows who are still in and around chandigarh. Can we put in our efforts to trace out the ones who have wandered in pursuit of success and happiness to various parts of the country and world? Let's see where we end up.
I shall begin by listing out all those who I remember were in my class; the class of 1984 passouts.
